Highlands International School San Salvador is proud to announce its remarkable achievements during its participation in the STEAM League Orlando 2024 Program.
The event brought together 25 schools from 10 different countries, with a total of 209 students, to celebrate excellence in Coding & STEAM education.
Within a nurturing environment that champions STEAM education and fosters a TECH Mindset, our students wholeheartedly embraced innovation and collaboration throughout the program. They demonstrated exceptional dedication in learning across the five areas of STEAM knowledge—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics—while integrating the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals into their projects.
As part of the program, students engaged in a competition where they worked on a collaborative and creative project. Their proposals were required to achieve certain criteria and reflect the knowledge acquired from the five areas of STEAM throughout the week. These projects were later presented to a selected panel of judges, with expertise in the fields directly influenced by STEAM education, and representatives from relevant organizations.
Highlands International School San Salvador takes immense pride in the creativity and ingenuity displayed by our students during the project competition with their proposed projects: LAND OLYMPUS and GALACTIC COSMOS THEME PARK. Their projects not only showcased their understanding of STEAM concepts but also demonstrated their commitment to addressing global challenges through sustainable solutions, preparing our students with the skills they need to succeed in the future, and allowing our school to Win Third Place in this Theme Park Design Competition, and also achieving the classification to the Tokyo STEAM Championship 2025 program.
